Plesk Windows Harddisk Restoration

Please follow the steps I have given below if you want to restore datas from another harddisk to a newly installed Plesk server.

1. Mounting old partitions. Mount partitions of old server to a new server.
Let D: be the drive letter of partition from the old server. All the paths are further taken as default for simplicity in this article.

2. Migrating Plesk Database
stop PleskSql server using Plesk Tray Monitor, Copy the D:\Program Files\SWSoft\Plesk\mysql\data into C:\Program Files\SWSoft\Plesk\mysql\, rewriting existing folder rename the files:

data\ib_logfile0
data\ib_logfile1
data\.err
start PleskSql server

3. Synchronizing Plesk admin password
Launch in the command prompt:

%plesk_bin%\plesksrvclient -set "pleskpassword", where is the Plesk password of Plesk admin on your old server.

Adding IP addresses

Login to PLesk, goto Server --> IP addresses and click 'Reread IP', this command will add IP addresses from your old server.

*IMPORTANT* Re-reading IP will not work on Virtuozzo VPSes. IP addresses have to be added from Virtuozzo Host OS into VPS in a regular for Virtuozzo way.

4.Moving mailboxes data
Copy the D:\Program Files\Mail Servers\Mail Enable\postoffices into the C:\Program Files\Mail Servers\Mail Enable folder
Copy the D:\Program Files\Mail Servers\Mail Enable\queues into the C:\Program Files\Mail Servers\Mail Enable folder

5.Configuring mail server
launch in the command prompt:
cd %plesk_bin%
mchk --all --fix=all
this will configure postoffices in Mail server.

6. Configuring DNS
launch in the command prompt:
cd %plesk_bin%
dnsmng update *
this will configure DNS server.

7. Just after executing all steps please run Plesk Reconfigurator -> Repair Plesk Installation -> Plesk virtual hosts security.
